Q: Why the Pronunciation Key used is different than other English Dictionaries?
A: Although, most of the English dictionaries use pronunciation keys that are similar, they are still not the same. Each have their own variations. Some of the Tamil pronunciations are very different than English hence need it's own pronunciation key.

Q: Why the Pronunciation Key used is not similar to any other Tamil writing software?
A: Most of the commercial or non-commercial Tamil writing software (keyboard mapping or transliterian) is designed to help write Tamil using English. We continually try to improve the learning experience of TamilMitra, so help us by sending your suggestions.
